Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 24, 2026

1. Introduction

At Silky Apple Technologies ("we," "our," or "us"), we believe that your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data across silkyapple.com and the apps currently listed on the site, including SilkWallet, SilkySnip, Silky Calcs, and TrueConsent. Some apps have their own detailed policies, which you can find here:

  • SilkWallet Privacy Policy
  • TrueConsent Privacy Policy
  • SilkySnip Privacy Policy
  • Silky Calcs Privacy Policy

2. Local Data Processing and User-Controlled Storage

SilkySnip and Silky Calcs are designed to keep their core workflows on your device. SilkWallet is designed around local-first household finance data with user-authorized Google, Firebase, and Cloudflare services for selected sign-in, storage, sync, sharing, export, and reminder features.

  • We do not upload SilkySnip screenshots to a Silky Apple cloud.
  • We do not read the OCR text you extract locally in SilkySnip.
  • We do not sell SilkWallet personal, financial, Google, contact, or attachment data.
  • We do not use Google user data from SilkWallet to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

3. Data We Collect Or Process

We collect or process only data needed to operate our products, provide support, and protect the service:

  • Website analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic sources and page usage patterns. This data is used for site improvement.
  • Contact requests: If you submit a form or email us, we receive the information you provide so we can respond.
  • Standard web logs: Hosting and website infrastructure may temporarily log IP addresses, browser details, and request metadata as part of normal website operations.
  • SilkWallet app data: Depending on the features you use, SilkWallet may process account identity, profile information, financial records you enter, contacts you choose to import or invite, attachments, workspace membership, Drive files, Sheets data, Calendar reminder events, Firebase workspace data, and Cloudflare live sync data. The detailed SilkWallet policy explains these categories and the exact Google OAuth scopes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services for specific product functions:

  • Google Analytics: for website usage measurement.
  • Google Sign-In, Drive, Sheets, and Calendar: for SilkWallet authentication, user-controlled files, spreadsheets, exports, sharing, and optional reminders.
  • Firebase Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database: for SilkWallet shared workspace authentication and sync where enabled.
  • Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects: for SilkWallet live workspace sync where enabled.
  • App store, billing, ad, form, and communication services: for app distribution, optional premium or rewarded access, support requests, and operational messages when those features are enabled.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the website or apps, with authorized workspace members according to the roles and sharing choices in SilkWallet, when you ask us to provide support, when required by law, or when necessary to protect users and services.

6. Data Security and Breach Notification

Local-first product data is protected primarily by your device, operating system, and account security. SilkWallet uses encrypted local storage, secure platform storage for local keys, HTTPS/TLS for network communication, and the security controls of Google, Firebase, Cloudflare, and app-store services where applicable. We recommend keeping your device and connected accounts secured and up to date.

In the event of a security breach that compromises your personal data, we will notify you and relevant regulatory authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law (e.g., within 72 hours under GDPR).

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain data only as long as needed for the features you use, support, security, legal compliance, or operational records. SilkWallet users can delete app data in the app through Profile > Account actions > Delete profile and can review Account and Data Deletion for public deletion instructions. You can request deletion or privacy help by emailing support@silkyapple.com.

8. Global Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific statutory rights regarding your personal data. If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, Switzerland, or certain US states like California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your data.
  • Rectify or update inaccurate data.
  • Erase / Delete your personal data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Restrict or Object to our processing of your data.
  • Data Portability.
  • Opt-out of Sale or Sharing (We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as defined by the CCPA/CPRA).

To exercise any of these statutory rights, please contact us at support@silkyapple.com. We will process your request in accordance with applicable local laws.

9. Lawful Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

Under the GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your data. We rely on the following bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: Processing data necessary to provide you with the core functionality of our apps (e.g., SilkWallet, TrueConsent).
  • Consent: When you optionally use cloud sync features, website analytics, or join a shared workspace.
  • Legitimate Interests: To ensure the security and integrity of our services, and to provide customer support.

10. International Data Transfers

While our products emphasize local storage, website analytics and certain optional cloud features (e.g., Firebase, Cloudflare, Google services) involve data processing on servers located in the United States and other regions. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, where data protection rules may differ. We rely on recognized legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect these transfers.

11. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). If you believe a child under this age has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services, legal requirements, platform rules, or third-party service requirements evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page.
