Consent Record Verification: What Hashes and QR Codes Can Check
A signature image and a record-integrity check answer different questions. A cryptographic hash represents data as a digest that can be compared with a trusted reference. The NIST hash-function overview explains the underlying concepts.
Integrity is not identity or permission
A matching digest can support an integrity check. It does not, by itself, establish who agreed, whether they were authorized, whether the consent was informed or whether a contract is enforceable. A QR code is a way to reach or convey verification information, not an independent security certification.
Checking a TrueConsent record
TrueConsent supports tamper-evident consent records and QR verification. Review the record details, parties and version alongside the verification result. Check that the destination is the official service before entering sensitive information.
Do not infer confidentiality from a successful integrity check. Review sharing permissions and the privacy policy. The terms describe the product's scope; this guide does not certify legal validity or a particular cryptographic implementation.
